The 3D-stereoscopic movie The Imaginarium of Master Bernink takes you into the enchanted daily life of shoolmaster Bernink in the early 20th century. It was made for the small-town natural history museum “Natura Docet” which Bernink founded, and it shares Berninks unflagging passion for the nature of his native region with the visitors. The movie, done on a very tight budget due to the limited funds of this small museum, drives home the message of the entire museum: watch closely, and with passion, and the wonders of your everyday surroundings will reveal itself to you, as they did to Bernink. (this video: short fragments in 2D)

The spaces Bosch presents don’t have anything to do with reality, nor with human comprehension. He is one of the first masters of the history of art who introduces in his images a dreamlike component which exceeds the conscious reality. Fantasy, humor, criticism, the vast symbolic universe that is needed to look over and understand the poetic interpretation of his artistic narrative, serve the painter to explore human nature and its adaptation to the context. The off-screen voice guide the journey and makes stops in passages from R.M. Rilke (sonnets to Orpheus), M.J. Romero (It is still today) and Charles Baudelaire (The clock) which express in poetry the drama of the artist, his ontologica…

The film tells a story of the Bonga Castle. BONGA CASTLE is an exciting, even peculiar sight in the heart of the idyllic small town of Loviisa, immediately south of the church. Its original design was made by Mr. Th. Hjelt, an architect from Helsinki. After the Finnish civil war, the house ended up owned by the Baumgartner family. Its Jugendstil from with its red roofed towels was modified according to the design of architect Hilding Ekelund into a granite castle along the lines of Italian neo-Classicism and functionalism.
