Bologna City of Water is a multimedia installation in one of the exhibition rooms of the new Museum of the History of Bologna that shows the reconstruction of a canal that flows in the dark under the streets of the city, using an interactive multimedia projection on the floor and a series of video clips projected on holographic screens.

    Bram Stoker’s Vampires is a mobile app that lets audience members engage with the literary heritage of famous Irish writer Bram Stoker (who wrote Dracula) in the very space where he spent his formative years. The app uses GPS, sensors and augmented reality (audio and visuals) to provide an immersive, cultural experience that at the same time references and reflects on the characters and narrative Bram Stoker created. The game reinvents many of the storytelling techniques used in the novel for use in the new medium of location-based augmented reality.

    The Icelandic company Locatify has developed apps and Content Management System (CMS) where curators and other users can upload content regarding cultural heritage for users of the applications. The apps provide navigation, guidance and narration supported by Global Positioning System (GPS) outdoor and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) indoor. With this system it is easy to create cultural heritage tours and provide users an unforgettable experience. Additionally treasure hunt games and map markers can be created. By the use of this technology cultural heritage can be presented and guarded in a new way.
