Alba theater memories
The story of a show room is the History of the earth and its people. Knowing that, Albergaria City Council created an exposition about Cine-Theatre Alba’s history and memories and for that purpose a documentary that has the same name was produced.
Many of this city families and their generations passed through this room, therefore, having that in mind for the creation of this work and the first exhibition, we did not forget the experiences and the belonging feelings .
Several former employees and associates were invited to participate in this project, counting with their knowledge, memories and illustrating the history of a particular place that marked their life. Our experience tells us that among the wrinkled faces and trembled hands, their memories walk with us, an endless constructive contamination between reality and myth.
Throughout the movie produced for the Alba’s exhibition, ‘Memories of a movie theater’, we found memories of those who built this building, who worked here, or simply anyone that had fun here. This selection is far from being a substantial reproduction of this world experiences that fills the imagination of many Alberga locals, but memories are not chosen with a defined order, just a glimpse into the lives of those who worked at the movie theater for over 50 years .
Through these pages, and the inaugural exhibition, we challenge you to explore the history of the area, to feel their spirit and reinvent that. Travel with us through the soul of a movie theater and his community memories. Become a part of it …
